The STIHL BTA 140 Battery Earth Auger is built for professional applications in horticulture, landscaping, forestry, agriculture and construction. Capable of drilling holes up to 300 mm in diameter, it is ideal for installing posts, digging planting holes, creating drainage shafts and preparing small to medium-sized foundations.
Powered by the STIHL AP System, the high-performance EC motor delivers powerful, low-vibration operation with minimal maintenance. Its quiet performance allows for comfortable use in many environments, while the balanced design and close-to-body drilling axis provide greater control and reduced operator fatigue.
The BTA 140 features three operating modes to suit different applications: Slow for controlled, low-kickback drilling, Fast for challenging ground conditions, and Reverse to help release jammed auger bits. The selected mode is easily controlled from the ergonomic handle and displayed on the integrated screen.
For added safety, the STIHL QuickStop system automatically stops the auger if excessive twisting is detected, helping reduce kickback and allowing work to resume quickly. A large support cushion improves comfort during operation, while the integrated transport bracket makes storage and transport easy and helps protect the QuickStop system.
For optimum performance, STIHL recommends pairing the BTA 140 with the AP 300.0 P battery.

Note: The BTA 140 is supplied as a powerhead only. Auger attachments, batteries and chargers are sold separately. Battery tools in the STIHL AP System are compatible with both ALLPRO and AP batteries.
